Pregnancy Progress Week 1 and Week 2

Last updated On August 2nd, 2020

You might be well aware that the pregnancy due date is calculated based on the last period that you had. So, there is no way you will get to know about your first week of pregnancy. In fact, doctors point out that the week following the menstrual cycle can hardly be known as a week of pregnancy.

What’s happening inside your body?

This week, your body is just recovering from shedding the unwanted endometrium and the uterus is on its way to getting back to its normal shape.

By week 2 i.e. a couple of weeks after your periods, the uterus starts preparing for ovulation by creating the endometrium which holds the fertilized egg. This week your body starts ovulating.

Once the ovulation is complete, the eggs wait for the sperms to fertilize them. Doctors believe that when sperms are induced at the peak of the ovulation period, chances of conception are higher.

So, if you are trying to conceive, it would be a good idea to get this kit as this will help you to find the best time for mating with your partner. Try not to get too worked up about the whole conception thing. Thinking about it too much can actually enhance your stress levels and hinder the whole process of getting pregnant.

You need to relax and go about your normal routine. However, if you are trying to get pregnant, it would surely be a good idea to keep an eye on what you eat. Though you may think that pregnancy is a ticket to eat anything and everything, it is definitely not so. You need to steer clear of all synthetic food materials and items that contain preservatives.

If you are overweight, cutting down on your calorie intake will help you lose weight and enhance your chances of conceiving. You can also go about your fitness regimen. However, you may want to give up extremely strenuous exercises like weight training, etc.

Things to do to make this Week Countable

  • Get an ovulation kit and use this to ensure the best time for trying to conceive.
