Diet chart with Indian recipes for 11 months baby

Baby stepping in his 11th month must get enough exposure to explore his taste buds.

Being parents, you must not make your baby at this age consume only few dishes; rather he should get the chance of tasting the dishes with versatile taste.

The previous food dishes for your baby had no spices or very less. But, this will be the month when you can easily make your child have some spice along with the food. Mothers can easily start experimenting in this regard.

Essential nutrients required in this month

The nutrition must be allotted as per the quantity in any food item.

Also the body weight of your baby is an important consideration to find out how much quantity of each type of nutrition your child should consume per day.

Also it is important to find out whether the child is having the breast milk or not. If he is consuming that, less nutrition through solid food can be appropriate.

But, if the baby is totally dependent on the solid food, the nutrition intake for your baby at this age will be:

  • Calcium- 500mg
  • Calories- 1000
  • Protein- 1 gram per every kg of body weight
  • Dietary fibers- 19 grams

Sources of nutrients

Milk- Milk is a complete source of all nutrients for your baby. Even though your baby is allowed to have solid food after his 6 months of age, drinking breast milk or whole milk will be an added advantage even he is about to reach 1 year of his age.

This contains good amount of calcium, iron, protein and vitamins. At least 2 serving of breast milk in a day will make your baby healthy.

Chicken- This is the time when you should give your baby some animal flesh. Along with a boost to his taste buds, this food also has number of health benefits.

It contains protein that helps your baby to build his muscle and mass. No parents would like to see their child becoming skinny. Thus, the chicken from poultry will be really advantageous in fulfilling the scarcity of mass.

Broccoli- Among the green vegetables in the market, most of them are highly nutritious. Broccoli is also one of the nutritional vegetables that are high in vitamin C.

It is also good for baby who is 11 months old as it is packed with the fibers in soluble form. You can easily add this in your baby food recipes.

Corn- You can easily feed your baby with corn once your baby has crossed this milestone. Yes, by now your baby can easily digest the corn.

It also has good nutritional value as it has good amount of carbohydrates as well as protein. This will really give a boost over the energy level of your child.

Foods to avoid

Citrus fruits- The citrus fruits such as lemon, orange etc should not be consumed by your baby.

This will be acidic in nature and can harm your baby who has not yet touched 12 months of age.

This can lead to stomach upset of your baby and can suffer from acidity.

Grapes- For many babies’ grapes may not be suitable. Rather it can be a reason for allergen.

For many children, this can lead to the choking hazard. If you wish your baby to feed the grapes, take suggestion from the dietician or pediatrician.

A simple diet plan for each week

Monday

7 am- 8 am- steamed dosa

10 am – vegetable soup

12 pm- formula milk

2 pm- plain khichdi

4 pm – apple fingers

8pm – homemade cereal rice

Tuesday

7 am- 8 am- kheer with milk and sooji

10 am – Vegetable with boiled egg yolk portion

12 pm- Aloo poha tikki

2 pm- milk with formula

4 pm – chicken soup

8pm – chapatti with dal

Wednesday

7 am- 8 am- Idli

10 am – egg yolk with toast

12 pm- formula milk or breast milk

2 pm- carrot khichdi

4 pm – formula milk

6 pm- wheat almond porridge

8pm – milk shake with almond

Thursday

7 am- 8 am- toast with sooji halwa

10 am – pumpkin rava sticks

2 pm- khichdi

4 pm – banana smoothie

6 pm- sandwich with rajma

8pm – formula milk

Friday

7 am- 8 am- pancake without any spices totally plain

10 am – paneer burji with sandwich

12 pm- formula milk

2 pm- beetroot rice

4 pm – formula milk

6 pm- chickoo milk shake

8pm – Aloo paratha

Saturday

7 am- 8 am- plain dosa with less oil and ghee

10 am – yogurt

12 pm- formula milk or breast milk

2 pm- fried rice with veg curry

4 pm – Shahi Tukda

8pm – formula milk

Sunday

7 am- 8 am- breakfast with formula milk

10 am – boiled egg yolk portion

12 pm- formula milk

2 pm- tomato khichdi

4 pm – formula milk

6 pm- chicken soup

8pm – plain chicken curry with rice

Prunes with oats

Ingredients

Oats- 2 spoons

Prunes- pulp of 2 spoons

Procedure

Take 2 spoons of oats and soak it in water for 10 minutes. You can see the hardness of the oats becoming soft and eatable for your child.

Now, in another container take the prunes and make pulp out of it. You need to take 2 spoon of such pulp and combine it with oats.

The presence of prunes will make it already sweet which can easily be consumed by your child.

Mango and banana Puree

Ingredients

Mango- 1 small

Banana- 1 medium size

Procedure

You need to take a mango and peel it skin. Now cut it in pieces and keep it aside. On the other hand peel the banana and take the edible part of it in a same container making small pieces.

Now take both the ingredient in a food processor and make pulp. Get the pulp in a small bowl and add a pinch of salt. This will help the food to digest. Mix them well and make your baby feed the same.

Chicken soup

Ingredients

Chicken- boneless 50 grams

Water- adequate

Salt- to taste

Turmeric- a pinch

Cumin seeds- 2-3

Procedure

You need to take the boneless chicken and make small pieces out of it. Remember to wash them really well so that not a single allergen remains. Then take a saucepan and add little oil in it.

Now drop 2-3 cumin seeds and get a nice smell of it. Now put the chicken pieces and sauté. Add pinch of salt and turmeric in it. Saute it and add water in it.

Put the lid over the saucepan and boil it for 10 minutes. Now take it in a bowl and serve your baby.

Diet tips

  • Let your baby have the food as much as he can. You don’t need to stop your baby in the middle even if you have a diet chart from the pediatrician that speaks about the quantity. A little more food is ok.
  • Let your child feed on formula milk at least once in a day so that it will be easier to fulfill all nutrition within your child’s body which the solid food is unable to do.
  • Let your baby sit when you are feeding your baby
  • F your child is not willing to have food, just try and divert his mind. There are many things which your child likes. Rather, being parents you will be absolutely aware of the same. You can divert his mind by reminding him about the same.
  • Make your baby move his body so that the rate of metabolism remains high. This will help baby to digest food really well and get a good appetite. Music is the best thing which your baby with like. Let your baby dance and move his body by playing music. This will be a wonderful tip which will keep your baby healthy.
