Baby Games – Month 2

Last updated On August 2nd, 2020

Your baby is 2 months now. By this time she must have started lifting head and shoulders and passing smile at you.

So, it is the right time to engage your little one into language and some motor skills. To do so, I recommend a few games that you can play with her.

Game 1: Diaper Time Chat

Purpose: To develop language skills

Talk to her while you are changing the baby’s diaper. Make her aware of what you are going to do by telling “Baby, let us do great work now, Mommy is going to lift up your legs and make you wear a clean diaper, etc.

” A baby may not understand exactly what you are saying but she will listen carefully, develop language skills and in the long run, it will help her to easily learn the toilet training as her brain will grasp it.

Game 2: Mirrors All Around

Purpose: To develop self-identification

It is good to take your baby around the house. It will break the monotony of lying down in the same crib in a single room.

Show her and your image on the mirror point out to your own eyes and similarly to the baby’s eyes on the mirror.

Ask her if she can see her Mommy or Daddy or other family members while you move to different rooms.

Game 3: Tap, Tap, Tap

Purpose: To develop listening skills

To develop the baby’s listening skills, place your baby on the back and sing a song.

While singing, tap the baby’s feet bottom with the rhythm of the song.

The tapping helps baby to learn new sound experience. Also, the baby will love hearing your voice.

Game 4: Cycling

Purpose: To develop motor skills

Pretend that your baby is riding a bike while lying on the back.

Hold baby’s ankles, keep the legs apart and move them in slow circles.

Talk with your baby in simple language at the same time.
