Baby Development Week 6

Week 6! It’s a bigger milestone you have achieved with the baby. There is nothing called baby novelty in your home. She is grown big now and family members are completely used to the new member.

  • Have you noticed how big your baby grown now from past couple of weeks? Check it now. She will grow quickly and learn at a quick pace.
  • Take the baby in your arms. Is she still fragile? No. she will look more solid and she is growing.
  • Have you already eased the general care and routine? If not, sort it now that suits your baby and you.
  • Buy clothes that one or two sizes bigger for your baby. She will no longer be fit into the dresses you wore her a few days back.
  • Check how many times they poop. Baby poops less frequently from 6th week and it is normal.
  • Feed the babies fully. Breastfeeding babies don’t get constipated.
  • Haven’t you notice the happiness in your little one? Waving hands, shaking legs, giggling sounds and kicks – signs of excitement and happy
  • Longer night sleeps and shorter day sleeps.
  • Allow others to calm your baby when she is a little fussy. Try to console her when she is crying. You will find the difference.
  • Talk to your doctor about vaccinations and get appointments.
  • Get appointment for a general checkup by end of 6th
  • You will be easily able to interpret the different moods of baby.
  • Practice tummy time regularly and by this time she gain good stability in neck.
  • Sit at different angles and try to grab her attention. She will try to move or tilt her neck towards you and respond you.
  • Sit or stand at a visible distance and call her. She will try to move and wave her hands and legs towards you.
  • Cut the fingernails after bath.
  • Play with the baby after she wakes up. Make time for baby, sit with her and have fun.
  • Play movable toys and check how long she follows it / how far she can see the toy.
  • Check her weight. She would have gained about 200 grams per week.
