Baby Development Week 7

Last updated On August 2nd, 2020

It’s going to a busy week for you and her. You could see a lot of things happening around.

Have you ever seen a quick learner in your life so far? We bet, you never. But, now you will see. No one learns faster than your baby.

  • Provide plenty of sensory opportunities and stimulate the baby. You will notice a dramatic improvement in her senses. She will become a keen observer and learn things quickly.
  • Wear bangles and make noise by moving or shaking the bangles. She will look sense the sound, the bangles and look at you with a surprised look on her face.
  • Put on long ear drops or jhumkas and talk to baby. She will notice the dancing ear rings.
  • Play any movable toy. She will not just look into moving toy, but look at your actions.
  • Although she is yet to give up her constant gazing at something. Now, she will do with little purpose.
  • Keep the windows open and let it slightly blow. She can connect the sound and movement of windows.
  • Place a musical toy near her. She will try to grab it if she likes and rejoice in happiness.
  • Call her in different names.
  • Talk to her what you are doing to her. – I’m giving you a sponge bath. I am massaging the naughty boy. I am wiping your bottom. I am going to put you to sleep. We are going to play. She will respond to your every word, smiling like Buddha or laughing loud.
  • Hang a colorful toy or musical toy in her crib. The little genius will think about how awesome it is, just like my mommy.
  • Show different toys or any dolls in different colors. She would prefer bright shades than black and white.

Have you noticed the change in reflex, hand and leg movements?

  • Finally, the cat is out of the basket. She now discovered the mysterious arms she always hunted for.
  • Her arms and eyes will aim at you constantly. Make this time more entertaining and relaxing. Try not to go within the reach of the baby but make her look at you.
  • Give her a favorite object (may be a toy, a piece of cloth or even your fingers). She will grab it quickly in one arm and wrap the same with other arm tighter. She wouldn’t want to let it go.
  • Although the movements are somewhat jerky, she will try to move her body, hit the floor with legs and try to slightly push her.

A few general things

  • Make the bath time more enjoyable.
  • She will have better sleeping pattern at night.
  • Although all these aspects are quite enjoyable, due to sudden shifts in growth and high intensity development, your baby hit low and make a fuss over everything. 6 – 8 weeks may be somewhat troubling due to sudden onset of crying.
  • Babies that cry often in week 7 means they are unsettled. Mommies, take care.
