Pregnancy Checklist for Month 5

Last updated On August 2nd, 2020

You are now half way into your second trimester and this would be the time when your pregnancy finally starts to show.

Of course, you can’t expect a prominent bump but experienced eyes are sure to make out that you are going to be a mom soon.

Your struggle with changes in your body and pregnancy symptoms is ought to continue this month too. However, you just can’t relax as you have got a lot to do.

Here is a pregnancy checklist that will see you through your fifth month of pregnancy.

Second Ultrasound

The first time you had an ultrasound, all you would have seen is a tiny speck which the doctor pointed out to be your baby.

This month you are in for your second ultrasound and you are more likely to get a good glimpse of your little one’s shape what with the baby having grown over the past weeks.

The main reason for the doctor to conduct this ultrasound is to ensure that your baby is growing as expected.

Plan a Nursery

Though you may be planning to co-sleep with your baby for some time, you still need a nursery where you can store all your little one’s things in an organized and hygienic manner.

For this, what you need would be various furniture items.

Since you may need a lot of time to research on these and find the right one before getting it delivered, this is the right time to start planning the whole thing.

Trust us! You may still have to rush at the end to get everything organized.

Birth Plans

Now that you have been attending birth classes for quite some time, you might be well acquainted with the different types of birthing options that are offered to women.

Now when you are five month pregnant, it is just the right time to talk to your doctor about these and start thinking of what you actually want.

First come first, you have to ensure that the hospital you plan to go for delivery offers these options. In case, they don’t, you may want to change the hospital or the doctor.

You may also need some time to think about the pros and cons of each plan and then take a wise, informed decision. So, go ahead and plan this out in the 5th month.

Shopping for New Clothes

Are your old clothes too tight around your mid section? Well, your body is growing and this is bound to happen.

It is time to rethink your wardrobe and buy some maternity clothes that will see you through your pregnancy.

Of course, make sure that you don’t invest in too many of these as the coming months would see you wanting for looser clothes.

Baby’s First Movement

It is somewhere around this time that most pregnant women start feeling the movement of their babies. This is not a pronounced kick or anything.

It might more likely be a fluttering in the abdomen much akin to gas. However, if you don’t feel it yet, there is no need to panic. Sooner or later, it is going to happen.

Hope this checklist for pregnancy will get you started with your baby shopping list and help you remember everything that you need to get done.
