Pregnancy Progress Week 11

Last updated On August 2nd, 2020

Come this week and you may be surprised to know that your appetite is coming back to normal. In fact, this actually means that your HCG levels are stabilizing and thus the queasiness is finally starting to bid adieus to you.

What’s happening inside your body?

Though the HCG hormones may have started stabilizing in your body, the hormones called progesterone are taking control. These are extremely important for maintaining a healthy pregnancy. However, these hormones also tend to loosen up your muscles including the gastrointestinal muscles which might be the reason for the gastric problems you may be facing lately.

What to Expect?

You may feel extremely bloated this week. This is mainly due to your digestive system has taken a toss due to the uterus that is growing with every passing day. You may also be experiencing problems like gas and burping which can be blamed on the work on progesterone that has loosened all the muscles that support digestion.

This week, you may be amazed to see that the jeans that you used to get into so easily have suddenly gotten tight, especially around the abdominal region. You may find it difficult to button it up. Well, this is just the beginning. As the abdominal muscles loosen up and your belly grows, you are surely going to find it harder.

Your Baby This Week

Your baby has been just as busy as ever in developing. Though it is too early to detect the sex of the baby, if it is a girl, this is the week when her ovaries start developing. By this time the little one looks extremely human with all the distinctive characteristics like hands and feet with cute fingers and toes, a tiny nose with open passages, a well-formed tongue in the mouth, and nipples.

This week, the hair follicles would start forming on the head of the baby from which luscious hair will sprout out.

Your little one is no more in the shape of a C. Her body has started straightening and she now moves more freely and even does somersaults and rolls. Of course, you need to be a bit patient to start feeling your baby. However, this is just a matter of time.

Things to do to make this Week Count

  • Since you might have started feeling that some of your clothes have started getting tighter around the torso, this should be reason enough to drag hubby dearest for a shopping spree.
  • Though you are just reaching the end of the second trimester, it would be a good idea to start planning for a shopping list for the baby. In the later weeks, you may feel too tired to go shopping.

Talk to your doctor and other experienced mothers about the baby essentials that you need to have store beforehand.
