Second Trimester Screening

With the fourth month, you make way into your second trimester. So, the doctor would call you for the second trimester screening this month.

In fact, this involves multiple tests and screenings that help your doctor to ensure that your pregnancy is progressing in a normal way.

The doctor would extract a blood sample and then check it for HCG levels, estriol, inhibin-A and alphafetoprotein. These tests help in checking the development of the fetus.

Birth Education Class

Planning to have a baby, it is now time to enroll into a childbirth help class.

Since these classes can last for as long as 12 weeks, it would be a good idea to start early such that you are well prepared even if you go into early labor.

With all the doubts and queries that may be haunting you, attending these classes are sure to put your mind to rest.

Prenatal Yoga

You need to join a prenatal yoga class now. The yoga exercises are extremely calming and would work wonders on your stress levels caused by all the hormonal changes in the body.

These exercises also help in enhancing the body strength that you are going to need all the more at the time of delivery.

Practicing prenatal yoga will also improve the flexibility and agility of your body which will come in handy as you grow over the next few months.

Inform your Boss

If you are a working woman and have been keeping the good news under wraps, it is ideal that you inform your boss about it this month.

This way, your boss would have ample time to look for a temporary replacement for the time when you would be away on a maternity leave.

This would also give you and your boss enough time to chalk out a plan to complete the projects that you might be working on presently.

Check Maternity Details with the HR Department

As a working woman, you will definitely have to take a break for a few months. Since every company has a different maternity policy, you may want to find out these details.

This in turn will help you to plan your leaves in such a way, so that you can spend more time with your baby.

In case, you are not happy with the maternity policies of your organization, you would have enough time to request for a change in these or ask for some special concessions.

Share the News with Everyone

Up until now, you might have shared the good news only with your close friends and relatives.

Now that you are well into your second trimester, you can go ahead and share the news with your colleagues, friends and neighbors.

After all this is definitely a news worth sharing and a time to celebrate. These are the things to do during pregnancy.

Make sure that you keep this pregnancy checklist handy during the 4th month such that you do everything correctly.
